Marketing Essentials for Creatives

event, westwood artists

The Westwood Artists hosted Tricia White of T. White Creations and Norwood Space Center to speak to creative people about how to market themselves. The workshop was held on Wednesday, March 27th in the evening at the Westwood Public Library.

The turn out was great! Creative individuals from many different fields were in attendance to hear Tricia. It was the third workshop I had participated in with Tricia and it was still packed with new and innovated ideas. She is a fantastic speaker.

Session takeaways were: understanding your brand, the importance of a website, strategies to drive customers to your product or service, and marketing tips and tricks. I’ve already implemented a couple of her suggestions: updating my professional photo (coming soon), checking settings on linked in and updating information, as well as giving my social media a new look.

Tricia White speaks to a room full of creative people.

If you are in the creative service industry (or thinking about entering the industry) whether photography, art, food, writing, or designing, and you want people to find you and purchase your products or services, email the Westwood Artists at westwoodartists@gmail.com to be added their mailing list. We are already working with Tricia to host a fall workshop with a focus on instagram or facebook.

This Saturday, March 12th from 10am-2pm, the Westwood Recreation Department will host “March into Summer” (10% off registration fees when you sign up for summer classes March 12-15).  I will be hanging out with other teachers and students talking up my summer classes: 2D and 3D Art in July. Wegmans is sponsoring this event.

3D Art ~ explore three dimensions while learning about carving, modeling and sculpture using recycled products, mixed media, clay and more. July 11-14.

2D Art ~ explore the mark on a flat surface while learning about graphite, colored pencils, watercolor and more. July 18-21

I’m thankful to the Westwood Recreation Department for providing a place where I can teach children to express themselves through creative means.
