A special exhibition hosted at the Dedham Community Theatre by the Dedham Square Artist Guild opens tonight in Dedham Square. The exhibit features work by Guild members, local artists, teachers and students who responded to the artist challenge: Still Life / Life Still. Tonight’s opening reception (THURSDAY, MAY 5th 6-8 PM) will include refreshments; artists will be on hand to meet and discuss their work.
Still Life / Life Still
Explore still life in a traditional approach by studying objects arranged in a balanced composition; or, where objects are caught in their natural surroundings and documented. Show us how you see still life / life still.
This exhibition will be up through the end of June. All artwork is for sale through the Dedham Square Artist Guild, including my one of a kind set of hand sculpted peppers.
Thanks to Dave Bradley Photographer, I bring you these beautiful photographs of some of the 21 featured artists who will be selling their pottery at this weekend’s Potters Place Fall Show and Sale. The annual show opens tonight, November 21st with a reception open to the public at 5:30pm. The show continues on Saturday from 9am – 8pm, and Sunday 10am – 4pm. The studio is located at 127 Old West Street in Walpole, MA. Stop in and see the cooperative studio and all the talent that is created there every day.

Thursday, May 2nd from 1-2pm, I will be hosting a clay workshop for students first grade and older at the Dedham Community House in Dedham Square. Students will create a bunny using low fire clay and their imaginations! The bunny pictured here was created in a previous class. Students will learn to make the body and head, attach eyes, ears, paws and a tail while giving the bunny a personality of its own! This is a wet clay class and students will not be painting. Instructor will clear glaze and finished work will be available for pick up at the Dedham Square Artist Guild.
This class was designed to take place duing early release Thursday for Dedham students in first grade and up. Sign up by Monday, April 29th on the Dedham Community House website at http://www.dedhamcommunityhouse.org/program-calendar.html?task=view_event&event_id=139
