“Nature” Opening Reception 6-8pm TONIGHT at the Dedham Community Theatre

In addition to the carved platter I’ve written about for the “Nature” exhibit, I have submitted a set of three rectangular vases glazed in the colors i love in nature.

A special exhibition hosted at the Dedham Community Theatre, and in collaboration with Dedham Civic Pride
Opening Reception: June 20th, 6pm to 8pm

“Ahhh, nature! Does being out in nature bring you into balance, inspire you, free you or are you terrified of the creepy crawlies of the natural world? June’s challenge asks artists to explore nature in all its forms…the great outdoors, human nature, nature vs. nurture, the possibilities are endless!! ! It surrounds us every day, no matter where we live or what we do.”

Roving galleries bring art into public eye

Roving galleries bring art into public eye

Sometime this week, my plates (above) will be featured on the wall at Isabella, an upscale restaurant in Dedham Square. As part of the Dedham Square Artists Guild, many of us participate in the “roving gallery”. These plates were created to coordinate with the decor at Isabella and hang on their wall (foot ring has holes for wire to hang). Wheel thrown stoneware plates have a simple black and white design that will work in tandem with the food they will serve.

Roving galleries that the Dedham Square Artist Guild members participate are located at the following locations: Mocha Java, Kouzina, Deli After Dark, Dr Lickteig’s, and more… Its a great way to get art out into the community for all to see and enjoy. All art is for sale and can be purchased on site or through the guild’s gallery at 553 High Street in Dedham.
