Tree branches, pine cones, stamps and colored slip – all materials used in my Winter Scenes Clay Workshop that took place at Dedham Community House last night. In a collaboration between Dedham Square Artist Guild and DCH, artist members host classes and share their skills with Dedham residents. My class was action packed: painting, rolling, stamping and throwing the clay! to manipulate the surface. Students enjoyed the process and created a beautiful one of a kind functional piece … more pictures in part two…
Sign up Today for my Winter Scenes with Clay Workshop taking place on Thursday, February 28th from 6:30-8PM at the Dedham Community House.
Explore surface decoration in clay using textures and stamps with hand drawn elements using colored slip. Students will work with a slab of high fire clay to create images, their favorite can be molded into a functional piece. I will finish the pieces with a clear glaze and have them available for pick-up at the Dedham Square Artists Guild. Ages 18 and up.
This photo detail is an example of what students will work on. I created this dish with real shells, sea~glass as stamp, and hand drawn fish. In the winter scenes workshop, stamps will reflect the season.
