Mid Summer Pottery Sale - Saturday, August 10th

There is nothing I like better then to spend the day at the farm interacting with customers, talking about my functional pottery, enjoying the peacefulness of the environment. This Saturday, August 10th from 10AM to 2PM, I will be at Powisset Farm in Dover, MA rain or shine.

It’s a tax free weekend in Massachusetts, and I’m looking forward to sharing that savings with my customers.

This is the first pottery sale I’ve had at the Powisset Farm Stand this season, but as a shareholder I visit the farm each week (as chronicled in my weekly blog posts about food and pottery) . The farm reminds me of my grandparent’s farm. I love seeing friends at Powisset, talking about the veggies, venturing out to the fields to pick, talk, taste the week’s bounty.

I’ve been working on my “Farmers Bounty” collection. Carving pea tendril vases; creating platters for veggies and dips; combining a deep brown with a pleasing green glaze to recreate what a farmer sees … earth and vegetation.

Mid summer seems the perfect time to host a sale. The days are still filled with sunshine and the fields with summertime veggies like cucumbers for pickles and juicy tomatoes to top with freshly made basil pesto (picnic favorites!).

Stop by and say hello this weekend, enjoy the tax break! and think about the farm to table connection that is best with handmade pottery.
