Small Business Saturday

Please shop locally on Saturday, November 26th (and every day!) to support small businesses.  Here is a look at what you’ll find at the galleries that carry my ceramic collections.

Dedham Square Artist Guild ~ 553 High Street, Dedham, MA www.dedhamguild.com

Founded in October 2011, we are Dedham’s first artist cooperative, owned and operated by its 20 members. We provide members of the cooperative a home for their work and opportunity to connect with the community, while striving to enrich the cultural life of all residents, through classes, workshops, art openings and more. The collection of work at the Guild encompasses a diverse style of art, including painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, monotype, wood, glass, textile and much more.

Custom Art Framing & Gallery 9 ~ 45 Central Street, Norwood, MA  www.customartframing.com

Custom Art Framing has been a Norwood fixture since 2003. Julie Vecchio brings years of picture framing expertise to a unique customer-service centered frame shop. In 2007 the shop’s gallery added to it’s focus on affordable artwork by local artists with the creation of Gallery9. With this expansion comes fun and exciting opportunities for artists and art collectors to interact, face to face, with our First Friday Artist Reception series. Currently at Gallery9 and Custom Art Framing you’ll find the most unique designs in custom picture framing, as well as, art classes for kids and adults, workshops, monthly artist events and the most fabulous little art gallery around.

fullsizeoutput_1408My family visited San Francisco, California this past August. We toured Monterey and Carmel, viewed Big Sur and then traveled north to Sausalito and into wine country before heading into the foggy city of San Francisco in the summertime. Here’s a look at some of the inspiration for my forms and surface decoration.

Please stop in and see my ceramic collections as well as the work of my 20 studiomates at Potters Place, 127B Old West Street in Walpole, MA.

img_1873

I created a collection of low fire pottery over the summer using Amaco Artist Choice and Opalescent glazes to bring out texture, and  Gare Fun Strokes for creating images by layering glazes on bisqueware. All of my ceramics are food safe and one-of-a-kind wheel thrown and/or handbuilt by me.
